Bamboo decking, it’s typically not the first choice for a decking material, but why shouldn’t it be? Bamboo is an environmentally friendly material that is beautiful, reliable and durable, so fused bamboo decking is a perfect option!

Traditionally, decks are built using hardwood. Wood decks typically use exotic hardwoods that are sourced from South America, where deforestation is an environmental concern. Unlike most hardwoods, which must grow for 50 years or more before they can be harvested, bamboo is a fast-growing grass that can be harvested every 5 to 7 years. Because of this rapid renewability, bamboo is one of the most environmentally friendly and sustainable building products available.

 

The solid bamboo decking are made from compressed, thermally trated bamboo strips. Our bamboo decking is suitable for outdoor applications. The extreme stability of the the material ensures a very durable bamboo terrace with the natural appearance of hardwood.

Bamboo with highest durability class.

A special, patented heat treatment process, called thermo-density, provides the highest durability class possible within the appropriate EU norms. 
After harvesting, the  bamboo stems are split and the outer skin is removed. By modifying the bamboo strips with a special patented Thermo-Density process, the dimensional stability of bamboo is improved by circa 50%. The heat-treatment at 200°C also ensures protection against superficial fungi and provides the highest durability class possible. After compressing the heat-treated bamboo fibres, the material is stronger and harder than almost any other hardwood
